Civil War Roundtable
Thursday, February 6, 2020 - 7:00 pm
Our Roundtable continues to meet the first Thursday evening of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the museum. If you would like to get on their mailing list to be informed of future speakers, please contact Chuck Pribbernow at email@example.com. The next meeting, on Thursday, February 6, has a change in speaker to Greg Mayfield, who will be talking about his ancestors who owned the general store in Leetown near Pea Ridge and over 300 acres of surrounding land. After the war, they filed a claim for damages against the federal government, which they unsuccessfully pursued for 30 years. The records from that case contain depositions from locals which are full of information about the lead-up to the Pea Ridge battle and the aftermath.

Once again, Bill and Mary Jane Cole (two of our docents), will be showing old time movies on a vintage 1940s projector and sound system. The two sound movies that we will be showing are "Murder Case" (1930, 30 minutes), in which Laurel & Hardy are looking forward to a vast inheritance in a short time and "Dirty Work" (1933, 20 minutes), in which Laurel and Hardy are expert chimney cleaners. We will provide popcorn during intermission. Admission is free and open to the public. This is an experience you shouldn't miss!
